Grace Vanderlugt

Meet Grace

Grace Vanderlugt is the Logistics Manager for SMT Bulk Transload. She oversees daily operations within the company’s transloading business. Her family moved to Savannah in 2005, where her father started a transloading business that has remained well-regarded in the port and railroad community for over 20 years. This move laid the foundation for a company built on consistency, relationships, and long-term growth.

Grace holds a Bachelor’s degree from both The University of Alabama and Emory University. After completing her studies, she returned to Savannah to work alongside her family at SMT Bulk Transload. In her role, she manages daily bookings, keeps teams aligned, and coordinates closely with operations and field personnel to ensure freight moves efficiently and on schedule.

Although she didn’t initially see herself in the logistics field, Grace has grown to genuinely appreciate and love the industry. Over the years, she has witnessed the continued growth of the Georgia Ports Authority, reinforcing just how dynamic and impactful this field can be. She believes logistics is an incredible industry and encourages others to pursue work that brings them both happiness and pride at the end of each day.
